O Arglwydd, 'rhwn sy'n maddeu bai
Yn rhâd i'r edifeiriol rai;
Fy unig hawl i'r nefoedd sy,
Trwy'th angau ar ben Calfari:
Pe rhown fy nâ
i'r tlodi'n lân
A'm corph i losgi yn y tân,
A chongcro'm beiau mawr eu rhi',
Pwy ennill fyddai hyn i ti?
Pe traethwn dy efengyl lân,
Ac achub myrdd rhag mynd i'r tân;
Beth yw hyn it' O Arglwydd cun,
Un gronyn ond dy ras dy hun?
Rhyfeddu 'rwyf i'r coelbren dd'od,
A'r nefoedd wen i'm rhan erioed;
Os yno'r af, mi gara'r gwaith
O ganu i dragwyddoldeb maith.
O Arglwydd, dwed beth wnes i well,
Nâ'r rhai sy'n aros etto 'mhell:
A ydyw'm beiau'n llai nâ hwy?
Yn hyttrach amlach
ynt, a mwy.
Yn rhad y ce's, yn rhad mae'n Bod
Bob peth a roddwyd i mi 'rioed;
Mae'r cwbl oll yn rhad i mi
O'r ddaear hon i'r nefoedd fry.

O Lord, thou who dost forgive sin
Freely for the repentant ones;
My only claim to heaven is,
Through thy death on Calvary's summit.
If I should give my goods
completely to the poor
And my body to burn in the fire,
And conquer my great number of sins,
What gain would this be to thee?
If I should expound thy holy gospel,
And save a myriad from going to the fire;
What is this to thee O dear Lord,
One grain but thy own grace?
Amazed I am that the lot should come,
And bright heaven ever as my portion;
If there I go, I shall love the work
Of singing for a vast eternity.
O Lord, tell what I did better,
That those who are still waiting afar off:
Are my sins less than theirs?
Rather, they are more
numerous and greater.
Freely I got, freely now is
Everything that was ever given to me;
The whole is altogether free to me
From the earth below to heaven above.

Thou who bestowest pardon free
On guilty sinners such as me,
My humble claim to Heaven above
Is, Jesus, in thy dying love.
If all my goods
I would bestow
To feed the helpless, poor and low
And give my body to the flame,
Would that exalt thy holy Name?
Or should I preach thy Gospel-Word,
Convert some millions to my Lord,
And o'er my sins a conqu'rer be
What gain, what profit this to Thee?
What I receiv'd is all thy own,
Thy grace, thy glory and thy crown;
What now I am, what I have been
Is all but
filthiness and sin.
My Saviour freely doth bestow
His gift upon the poor and low;
And all is free, and all is love,
Both from beneath and from above.
